| Modern research has come up with a possible solution to bulky solar panels, hide them underground. EarthSure is marketing the idea of magnifying sunlight through a fiber-optic line underground (or underneath a roof). The fiber-optic line is fed through cylindrical solar panels, where the light is released to generate electricity. |

The current issue is determining how efficient this process is compared to direct solar systems. Th system will fix the aesthetics of solar and protect the system from theft/vandalism (it's locked underground or inside a building), but may not provide comparable electricity generation, but it will provide an alternative to a cluttered roof.
