Comparison to above ground panels
Modern research has come up with a possible solution to bulky solar panels, hide them underground. EarthSure is marketing the idea of magnifying sunlight through a fiber-optic line underground (or underneath a roof). The fiber-optic line is fed through cylindrical solar panels, where the light is released to generate electricity.
The current issue is determining how efficient this process is compared to direct solar systems. Th system will fix the aesthetics of solar and protect the system from theft/vandalism (it’s locked underground or inside a building), but may not provide comparable electricity generation, but it will provide an alternative to a cluttered roof.
